Who We Are
Creativity is our way in.
Drama, music, art, storytelling and performance often help us connect with a young person in a way that feels natural rather than pressured.
Our team brings together creative experience and specialist SEN knowledge, with a deep understanding of young people who may have become anxious, disengaged or unable to access education in the usual way.
We support young people aged 7 to 19 with PDA, autism, ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia, including those experiencing school avoidance or accessing education through EOTAS.
SEN Manny Mentor grew from the kind of relationship a young person may have with a long-term nanny or manny: familiar, dependable and built over time. We combine that trusted relationship with specialist mentoring and teaching, so the young person feels known before they are asked to learn.
Creativity is not an extra part of our work. It is often where trust begins. We mentor first, and introduce teaching when the young person feels ready.

What We Believe
Trust comes before progress. Always.
The young people we work with do not lack ability.
Many have spent a long time trying to learn in environments that did not understand them or the way they experience education. Some have developed anxiety around school. Others have lost confidence in themselves as learners altogether.
So we don't start with targets. We start with what lights them up, build trust without pressure, and let everything else grow from there.

The session may look different from a conventional lesson, but it is always purposeful. We adapt the approach without losing sight of their education and longer-term goals.
How creativity helps
We bring creativity into every session.
A young person who will not open a textbook may begin by discussing a character, writing a script or exploring the lyrics of a song.
From there, learning can be introduced in a way that feels relevant and possible. This may include English, maths, communication or emotional regulation, depending on what the young person needs.
