EOTAS Packages

Designing a completely personalised education that helps your child enjoy life & learning again

EOTAS (Education Other Than At School)

At SEN Manny Mentor, we use EOTAS because it gives us the space and the honour to do something the system often could not. To help a child feel fully understood and safe enough to enjoy learning again.

When a young person has experienced anxiety, shutdown, or trauma around education, learning cannot be forced back into place. It has to be invited back, gently, through things that already feel good and familiar.

That is where we begin.

What EOTAS Means to Us

IMG_9475.jpg

We do EOTAS because it gives us the space and the honour to light up the spark for learning and life again. When a child has been through anxiety, shutdown, or trauma around education, that spark matters. Learning does not return through pressure or expectation. It returns when a young person feels fully understood and safe.

EOTAS allows us to slow everything down and start in the right place. With the child. For many of the autistic and PDA young people we support, that slowing down is not a luxury, it is essential. Before subjects, targets, or timetables, we take time to understand who this young person is, what they enjoy, and what helps them stay open rather than shutting down. That understanding shapes everything that follows.

From there, we build a personalised education designed around how that child thinks, feels, regulates, and engages with the world. Learning may begin through creativity, movement, conversation, or hands-on projects. English, maths, and other subjects are woven in through what already holds meaning, rather than introduced as demands.

This is how learning starts to feel possible again.

How Our EOTAS Packages Work

Every EOTAS package we create begins with the child.

From there, we build a bespoke package that brings together mentoring, tutoring, creative learning, and life skills in a way that fits the young person as they are today, not who they are expected to be. Nothing is fixed. As confidence grows and capacity changes, our support shifts with it. We stay responsive, creative, and present, adapting to what is actually happening rather than sticking to something written months earlier.

Academic learning is introduced gently and meaningfully. English, maths, and other subjects are explored through real interests and low-pressure approaches, so learning feels possible rather than overwhelming. Mentoring runs alongside tutoring, rebuilding trust, confidence, and communication. For many young people, this relationship-led work is what allows education to return at all.

Each package is supported by a small team who reflect, communicate, and adapt together. No two journeys are the same, but the care, creativity, and commitment remain constant as the young person grows.

Why Families Choose SEN Manny Mentor

image00005.jpeg

Many families come to us once EOTAS is on the table, when the real question becomes how to build an education that does not repeat what already failed their child.

Parents are often looking for something holistic. Something collaborative. Something that sees their child as a whole person, not a problem to be fixed.

What they find is space. Time. Thoughtfulness. A team that studies who their child is and builds education around that, rather than asking the child to fit into a system that already proved too much.

Real Stories of Progress and Connection

When we first met this learner, school had become a source of stress. He was bright and creative, but years of difficult experiences had made learning feel out of reach.

The first stage was not academic. It was about rebuilding trust.

For several months, sessions focused on connection. We played Fortnite, explored virtual environments, shared stories, and created a space where he could feel safe without expectation.

As confidence grew, we discovered what truly worked for him with English. We used bespoke audio learning and turned texts into sensory-rich experiences so he could visualise and feel them. English GCSE became collaborative, interactive, and competitive. Audio learning allowed him to move, walk, and stay regulated while engaging deeply with the material.

Today, he is working towards English and Maths GCSEs. More importantly, learning no longer feels like something to fear. Sessions remain child-led and shaped around what supports him best.

This is what EOTAS means to us. Education that grows from a young person’s world, rather than asking them to fit into someone else’s.

“We are now a full year on since my first review and our son has developed so much in that time. Faisal faces every challenge standing alongside us parents; his knowledge, skill, patience, empathy and understanding have allowed our son to shed some of the past trauma of school-based education. Faisal works with all other professionals involved in our son’s education and care, forming positive relationships to build and lead the team around our son.

Faisal’s huge creativity gets to the heart of every obstacle and empowers kids (and adults!) to start loving learning again. There will be plenty of challenges along the way, but our son now has a real chance to thrive with Faisal supporting him.”
