EOTAS Support Build Around Your Child

Completely personalised SEN education that helps your child feel safe, engaged, and able to enjoy learning again

EOTAS (Education Other Than At School)

At SEN Manny Mentor, EOTAS allows us to do what many children have needed for a long time.

To slow education down enough for it to feel safe again.

When a young person has experienced anxiety, shutdown, or trauma around education, learning cannot be pushed back into place. It needs to return through trust, familiarity, and approaches that already feel manageable. That is where our EOTAS packages begin.

We provide EOTAS support that combines specialist SEN tutoring, SEN mentoring, and coordination around the child, their EHCP outcomes, and their wider support network.

What EOTAS Means to Us

Relationship-led EOTAS SEN mentoring that builds confidence and engagement.

For us, EOTAS is not simply an alternative timetable.

It is a different way of understanding education.

Many of the autistic, PDA, ADHD, and neurodivergent young people we support need time to feel emotionally steady before learning can reappear. EOTAS gives us the space to begin with the child rather than starting with targets, pressure, or expectations.

Before subjects or timetables, we take time to understand who the young person is, what they enjoy, how they regulate, and what helps them stay open rather than shutting down. That understanding shapes every decision that follows.

Learning may begin through creativity, movement, conversation, or shared projects. English, maths, and other subjects are woven into what already holds meaning, rather than introduced as demands. This is often the moment learning starts to feel possible again.

How Our EOTAS Packages Work

Every EOTAS package we design begins with the child and their EHCP.

From there, we build a bespoke package that may include SEN tutoring, SEN mentoring, creative learning, and life skills, shaped around how the young person engages right now. Nothing is fixed. As confidence grows and capacity changes, the package adapts with them.

Academic learning is introduced gently and purposefully. SEN tutors work at a pace that keeps learning accessible, while mentors support regulation, confidence, communication, and readiness to learn. For many young people, this mentoring work is what allows tutoring to take place at all.

We also coordinate EOTAS packages, working closely with families, local authorities, and other professionals. This includes liaising with SEN tutors, SEN mentors, therapists, and wider teams to ensure everyone is aligned with the child’s needs, EHCP outcomes, and agreed approach.

Each young person is supported by a small, consistent team who reflect together and adapt as needed, so support never feels fragmented or fragile.

Why Families Choose SEN Manny Mentor

Relationship-led EOTAS SEN mentoring through play-based learning.

Families often come to us when EOTAS has been agreed but the bigger question remains.

How do we build an education that does not repeat what already failed our child?

Parents are usually looking for something joined-up, thoughtful, and emotionally safe. They want SEN tutors and SEN mentors who truly understand neurodivergence, anxiety, and school-based trauma, and someone who can help coordinate the wider EOTAS picture.

What families find with SEN Manny Mentor is time, care, and clarity. We take the time to understand the child fully, and we build education around that, rather than asking the child to fit into a system that has already proven too much.

Real Stories of Progress and Connection

When we first met this learner, school had become a source of stress. He was bright and creative, but years of difficult experiences had made learning feel unreachable.

The first stage was not academic. It was about rebuilding trust.

For several months, sessions focused on connection. We played Fortnite, explored virtual environments, and created a space where he could feel safe without expectation. As confidence grew, we discovered what worked best for him with English.

Through bespoke audio learning and sensory-rich approaches, English GCSE became collaborative and engaging. He was able to move, stay regulated, and still connect deeply with the content.

Today, he is working towards English and Maths GCSEs. More importantly, learning no longer feels frightening. Sessions remain child-led and shaped around what supports him best.

This is what EOTAS means to us. Education that grows from a young person’s world rather than asking them to fit into someone else’s.

“We are now a full year on since my first review and our son has developed so much in that time. Faisal faces every challenge standing alongside us parents; his knowledge, skill, patience, empathy and understanding have allowed our son to shed some of the past trauma of school-based education. Faisal works with all other professionals involved in our son’s education and care, forming positive relationships to build and lead the team around our son.

Faisal’s huge creativity gets to the heart of every obstacle and empowers kids (and adults!) to start loving learning again. There will be plenty of challenges along the way, but our son now has a real chance to thrive with Faisal supporting him.”
