Anxiety Mentoring with SEN Manny Mentor

Creative, child-centred SEN mentoring that helps anxious children feel steadier and more confident

Anxiety can shape a child’s entire day. Sometimes it is obvious. Sometimes it hides behind avoidance, humour, control, or silence.

At SEN Manny Mentor, anxiety mentoring begins with reading the room properly. We notice how a young person is arriving, what they can tolerate, and what might help without pushing things further.

Much of the anxiety we support sits alongside autism, ADHD, PDA traits, and patterns shaped by educational or life stress. That means our SEN mentors work carefully, using curiosity, shared enjoyment, and emotional attunement rather than strategies or pressure. Our anxiety mentoring supports SEN and neurodivergent children whose anxiety is affecting how they feel and engage day to day.

The aim is simple. Help a child feel safe enough to stay present and trust themselves again.

How Anxiety Mentoring Works

SEN anxiety mentoring using creativity, drama-based acitivities to support emotional regulation and confidence building.

Our anxiety mentoring is relationship-led, SEN-informed, and intentionally enjoyable. Trust often grows through moments that feel light and familiar.

Sessions may involve games, creative challenges, movement, drama-based activities, voice or audio work, or time spent around interests that already matter to the child. Emotional skills are explored inside experiences that feel natural rather than clinical.

Many of our SEN mentors come from creative and therapeutic backgrounds, including drama, movement, and physical education.. These approaches help anxious learners regulate, build confidence, and express themselves without needing to sit still or explain how they feel.

Every session is bespoke. Some children settle through conversation. Others through activity, stillness, humour, or imagination. Our SEN mentors adapt continuously so anxiety mentoring stays manageable and engaging.

This is delicate, child-centred work shaped around the young person in front of us.

Real Stories of Growth and Progress

Feedback from families whose children experience anxiety alongside autism, ADHD, and emotional regulation difficulties.

“We hired Faisal to care for our 11-year-old son during the summer, while we were visiting London from the United States. Our son is sweet, empathic, imaginative, and funny… and has Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder, ADHD, and anxiety. Faisal was kind, thoughtful, and professional. Our son had a great time with him and looked forward to hanging out each day. Faisal really worked to get to know and understand our son. He handled our son’s various social challenges with patience… adapting routines to maximise the chance of a successful day.

He was communicative with us as parents… and always was careful to ensure the activity was both interesting and appropriate. He was able to match our son’s energy and was willing to play the imagination games our son craves.

We would definitely hire Faisal again and recommend him wholeheartedly to other families.”

“I really liked my time with Faisal. It was fun because we could do all sorts of things together and all the time we had fun. We played football a lot and went outside and walked lots of different places in London. Faisal was joyful, funny, and a very fun person to be around. He was also very chill. If I didn’t want to do something, he would try but didn’t force me to do anything. He was calm, adventurous, and liked telling stories. Faisal was considerate and very kind about any struggles I had, including my anger issues. I would recommend him 100%. He’s one of the best mannys and mentors for people with special needs that I’ve ever had.”

Why Families Choose SEN Manny Mentor

Creative SEN anxiety mentoring using drama-based activities to build confidence and emotional safety.

Families often come to us when anxiety has made daily life harder than it should be.

They are looking for an SEN mentor who understands how anxiety shows up alongside autism, ADHD, PDA traits, and emotional overload. Someone who can step in calmly and not make things worse by pushing.

Our anxiety mentoring stays low demand and emotionally safe. Language is chosen carefully. Activities are offered, not imposed.

Parents often notice small but meaningful shifts. Their child relaxes. Engagement becomes easier. Confidence begins to return without being forced. This includes school anxiety, emotional overload, and anxiety-driven avoidance.
